Easy PEASY Icon Effect 01

Easy Icon Effect:
Experience needed: Little(Everything is explained, from making a new layer to putting it to Lighten)
USING: Adobe Photoshop 7.0

This tutorial will show you how to get a nice icon effect without tooooo much trouble.
1. I'm going to use this picture:

You can use it too, it's taken from one of our fashion scans. Here's the full-size.

2. Make a new layer. Don't know how to make a new layer? -Click-

3. Fill it with a bright colour. I'm going to use #DB1384
Then put that layer to Lighten (Don't know how?)

4. Grab the Lasso Tool and make a random selection, such as:

Now right-click on the selection and choose feather, set the radius to about 40px (this may differ depending upon what kind of picture you're using.) Now click delete, you can click multiple times, just see what you effect you like best.
