The Alamo
The Alamo (orginally named Mission San Antonio de Valero, the Alamo is one of the most visited and most famous places in all of Texas. It is the site where 189 Texans died defending their freedom on March 6, 1836 and the mission is now a museum that honors them. It lies in the middle of downtown San Antonio. Admission is free.
River Walk (Paseo Del Rio)
This river-level world is the pride of San Antonio. Resting in the middle of downtown, it is lined with beautiful scenery, resturants, shopping centers, and much more. There are even tours on boats that will explain the history and importance of many places along the path of the river.
